Terms of Use

Last updated October 20, 2026

These terms cover your use of the Bible to Unlock app for iPhone and this website (together, the “App”), provided by Serban Marketing Inc, Rocklin, California, USA (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

1. Using the App

The App is free. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use it on Apple devices you own or control, for your family's own non-commercial use. Please don't copy, resell, reverse-engineer, or misuse the App, or use it in a way that breaks the law.

2. For parents and guardians

The App is designed to be set up and managed by a parent or legal guardian on their child's device. If you set it up for a child, you confirm that you are that child's parent or guardian, or have their permission, and you agree to these terms on the child's behalf.

You are responsible for:

  • deciding which apps to lock, for how long, and whether the App is right for your child;
  • keeping your parent PIN private;
  • turning on optional features, such as the voice check or “Sundays at church”, only if you agree to how they work, as described in our Privacy Policy;
  • supervising your child's device use. The App is a helpful tool, not a substitute for a parent's care and judgment.

3. How the App works, and its limits

The App relies on Apple's Screen Time, Apple's speech recognition, and an on-device voice model. These can make mistakes. A reading may occasionally be accepted or rejected in error, a determined child may find a way around the limits, and features may change when Apple updates iOS. Parents can always review readings and unlock the apps manually.

4. Bible text and third-party services

The App uses services from other companies, including Apple (Screen Time, speech recognition, maps, and iCloud) and Crossway (ESV Bible text). Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we aren't responsible for them. Scripture text is the property of its copyright holder; the ESV® Bible is © 2001 by Crossway, a publishing ministry of Good News Publishers. See Support for the full notice.

5. Your privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what the App handles and where it stays. In short: recordings and voice profiles stay on the phone, and we don't run servers, accounts, ads, or tracking.

6. No warranty

The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't promise that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that it will always block or unlock apps as expected.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Serban Marketing Inc will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App. Because the App is free, our total liability for any claim relating to it is limited to US$50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

8. Apple

These terms are between you and Serban Marketing Inc, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the App or its content, and has no obligation to provide support for it. Your use of the App is also subject to the App Store's terms and Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.

9. Changes and ending use

We may update the App or these terms from time to time. If we make important changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. You can stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your devices.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
